Our third grade
class poses with the sculpture of Matthew Henson we made.

Our class studied Henson extensively during Black History
Month. The art teacher Ms. Lola Bloom helped us put the
sculpture together.
All the students had a part in the project. Many drew
pictures of Henson, wrote biographies about him, or
explained why he is an important figure.
