Bryan Jackson portrays Matthew Henson (Kneeling) and Jerome Barrett portrays Robert Peary (Laying down). This scene captures the moment when Peary realizes he can go no further due to his badly frostbitten feet and the amputation of nine of his ten toes. Henson shows true companionship, and comforts Peary by holding his hand and offering reassurance that they will reach the pole!
