Despite those altruistic words "the
obligation to provide services to
patrons in all areas" my postal
carrier stopped doing what FedEx Ground,
United Parcel Service, and freight
companies do—pickup & deliver to my
porch. Priority Mail package pickup
service is promised by eBay & the USPS
online, but civil service employees
apparently are not accountable to
anyone. My carrier resented walking 25'
around my carport so he stopped
providing postal services. |

RE: ESCALON, CA postal
carrier refuses to walk 25 feet
to pick up Priority Mail
packages for shipment—a service
promoted by the USPS on TV, in
posters, on their website and by
eBay & PayPal.
Dear Senator Feinstein,

Please help restore my Priority
Mail package pickup service.
It is available to all eBay
sellers who ship Priority Mail,
and to all USPS patrons with
online accounts to print postage
labels. There is no requirement
for a “circular driveway” as
claimed by the Escalon
Postmaster who stopped service.

I see only an ethical failure
evidenced in the letter from the
Sacramento USPS office
referencing my driveway as
“…rural roads…obstructed by
gates, or that cross unbridged
streams that are not fordable
throughout the year.” My
driveway has no “unbridged
streams” as shown in photos at
matthewhenson.com/usps.htm

This is a shameful act of
discrimination by a carrier
unwilling to walk 25 feet to
pickup Priority Mail packages—a
service available to all online
shippers.

USPS ends in the word “service”
as does the phrase civil
service. Someone needs to remind
the local PO of this fact. Thank
you.

Sincerely,

Verne Robinson

| UPS and FedEx park to
walk 25 feet to porch for
pickup & delivery. But the
Escalon post office stopped
doing so recently. They refuse
to walk even this short
distance—not to deliver
letters—but to pickup Priority
Mail packages as promised by the
USPS website. |

Safe,
efficient carrier pickup location
The USPS picked up packages from here
for years until one day Ritchie decided
to stop it.

This service is available to all postal
patrons, to all USPS Priority Mail
shippers who schedule carrier pickup
online.

Refusal to provide a service the USPS
provides to all customers is
discrimination.

The USPS delivered parcels to my
porch & picked up Priority Mail items
here without incident for several years.

FedEx Ground regularly picks up
packages, and has backed up without
incident for several years.

UPS delivers item to my porch regularly,
and they, too, have backed up without
incident for several years.

Then, suddenly, Ritchie claimed he "cannot back up".
But
the fact is there has never been any way to visit my
home without backing up.

| You may write a letter
to these government agencies.
Tell them you want Matthew
Henson's books & pictures
shipped by Priority Mail even if
that means the postal person has
to walk 25 feet, and back up his
little postal car to leave. |
